TALENT MANAGEMENT
Overview
A recent survey of HR executives determined that "Talent will be the defining factor in the future success or failure of U.S. companies... workers may be the next great profit driver for U.S. industry."
Talent management is a means of identifying, releasing, and guiding untapped potential in people. This allows businesses to manage high-flyers that are hungry for success as well as implementing a flexible and developmental approach for all staff members.
Organizations can improve their talent management processes by broadening their focus. This starts with assessments across all levels of employees. Using these results, organizations can to develop the right people for each position and then evaluating areas which need key personnel from outside the organization.
The result is increased retention and employee satisfaction, most often attributed to executive, management, and career development programs, with increasing focus on entry-level employees and new hires.
